Ben-to Episodes 1 & 2

Why does a show about lunch have an op that looks like street fighter? I have no idea. Actually it because the show is about fighting for half-priced ben-to. No Joke. In the world of half-priced ベントー you are either a dog (someone who just gets beat up) or you are a wolf (one given over to the thirst for the hunt).

And she meant it like an insult...

In EP 1 we meet Satou in his period of discovery. Having been knocked out at the grocery store, he slowly pieces together what happened to him and why? And who was the cute white-haired girl? He eventually is taught the basics about the battles that rage each night over half priced ベントー . Then the question merely become whether Satou will flee from battle or become a wolf. This question is addressed in EP 2 as he comes  under Sen Yarizui's, know as the Ice Witch, tutelage as he prepares himself. He learns more about the rules and players in the game and finds his first victory with the help of "The Wizard."

Yeah...you do that.

This show is pretty ridiculous. Just the premise and description should be a clue as to that, but it ends up being a lot of fun to watch. The mock shounen/school life feel is done well and the show never takes itself too seriously. Worth a watch if you want something that is generally pretty mindless but done well enough to be very entertaining.

It's about to go down.
